My own dentist refused to fit me in for a crown she had told me I needed. I approached Ankeny Family Dental and Dr. Gelfond fit me in. They spoke to the lab and the lab put a rush on the crown. In less than a week, I had my crown. He put it in on the final day of my insurance. The dentist I previously went to had bought the practice recently from my dentist of 20 years. I did not feel comfortable with her. I was not allowed any input into my own care. For the crown she wanted me to go to a dental surgeon for a root canal first at great expense then come back to her for the crown. With doctor Gelfond , no root canal was necessary, he did the procedure in a timely manner and went the extra mile for a new patient. The tooth has dne well since.
