Meet Dr. Gelfond

Dr. Gelfond was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His family immigrated to Des Moines, Iowa in 1988 when he was 6 years-old. He graduated from Valley High School in 2001, earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Iowa State University, and obtained his doctorate from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2009. Having lived most of his life in Des Moines, Dr. Gelfond decided to return to the greater Des Moines by moving to Ankeny. He loves being a part of the Ankeny community and everything it has to offer.
 
In his spare time Dr. Gelfond loves to spend time with his lovely wife and three sons. He also loves gardening, trying new foods, traveling, cars, going to the movies, attending sporting events, and cheering on the Cyclones and Hawkeyes.
 
Professional affiliations include: The Iowa Dental Association, American Dental Association, Ankeny Chamber of Commerce, Ankeny Young Professionals, and past Iowa Mission of Mercy participant.
 
Dr. Gelfond strives to provide families with the highest quality dental care in a comfortable and friendly environment. He believes it’s important to stay current and up to date with the latest dental techniques, protocols and technology by attending dental continuing education courses. Dr. Gelfond is committed and dedicated to providing specialized dental care by listening to patients’ needs and concerns in order to obtain optimal oral health.
